Since launching the Lost & Found label in 2013, Guy J has been scaling back his commitment to Bedrock Records, an imprint he's been associated with since the early 2000s. Yet despite this switch of focus, his commitment to melodious, club-ready music - and progressive house in particular - remains as strong as ever. "Day of Light" is as positive and ear-pleasing as anything the Belgium-based Israeli producer has released to date, with morning-fresh electronic motifs, sun-kissed pads and undulating lead lines rising a throbbing, trance-influenced bassline and taut drums. B-side "Mind Of" makes use of a similarly pulsating, arpeggio style bassline but is undeniably darker and moodier, with gnarled riffs and spacey synthesizer lines catching the ear. It's a far more intense workout but no less appetizing.
