Working with one of the most acclaimed musicians to ever come out of Jamaica, Ohm Records Inc. is proud to present the long awaited re-issue of one of the greatest roots reggae albums of all time. Errol "Flabba" Holt's Rastafari Time. Originally released in 1975 with only 100 original copies pressed, this groundbreaking album is now available again on vinyl lp.
Born Errol Alexander Carter on the 19th of July 1950 Flabba has revolutionized the sound of reggae music overa span of4 decades. Not only is he one of the most accomplished bass guitarists in reggae music, but he is also one of the most prolific vocalists. Growing up in west Kingston Flabba began his career as a dancer in the 1960's. From there he moved on to become a studio musician for Rupie Edwards and Success Records. Later working with record producer Henry "Junjo" Lawes producing songs for artists such as Gregory Isaacs, Michael Prophet, Freddie McGregor, and many other prodigal musicians. Formerly an integral member of The Morwells and one of the founders of The Roots Radics Band whom completely revolutionized the entire reggae sound in the 1980's. Rastafari Time and Visions Of Africa were the only two full albums where Flabba showed us his incredible vocal talent. It is our honour to make this album our inaugural press. Tracks include, My Heart Is In Danger, A You Lick Me First, Red Eye, I Am Not A King, Pure Sorrow, Sufferation, Innocent Man, Congo Dread, Jah Will Provide, and We Are In The Mood. Some of these songs are available in a single 7 or 12 inch vinyl format but never before have they been re released on a full vinyl album.
please note, all sound samples are in low quality mp3 format recorded from a vintage portable turntable.
