Two tracks of experimental electronic drone business from French talent Karen Jebane, AKA Golem Mecanique, this should satisfy die hard fans and offer a good introduction to the artist for newcomers. Despite means of production being so clearly grounded in the 21st Century (or at least the 20th), there's something about the work that seems to echo through the ages. A spiritualistic element that transcends the kit used to create the sounds - like a sci-fi movie that sets its scene at a point when the world has gone cycled back to ancient times. Plenty of imagery conjured in tracks that are actually incredibly simple and sparse. But it's in this sonic desolation that the power is truly evident. They say as humans you can understand more of what we mean by what is not said, rather than that which is spoken. In many ways this is very much the case here.
