Over the last few years, El Buho has become one of Wonderwheel's most reliable artists. "Ramas", a collaborative set that sees him join forces with like-minded producers and musicians from around the world, sees him return to Nickodemus' imprint with his first studio album for two years. In keeping with much of his catalogue, the collective collaborative tracks fuse a mixture of downtempo grooves, Latin beats and tropical rhythms with folksy instrumentation, picturesque vocals, humid electronics and subtle nods to a myriad of interconnected downtempo styles. The results are largely hugely enjoyable, with our favourites including the dubby Afro-Cuban shuffle of "Cancuban" (with M Rux), the gorgeously wide-eyed and sun-soaked Baiuca hook-up "A Minha Fraga" and the soft-focus shuffle of "Kuuma" (with QOSQI).
