When grading our Records we use the recognised "UK Record Collector Magazine" grading guide with the addition of a plus (+) when a record falls between any two grades.

Description:  1965 UK 1st pressing with 1/1 matrix containing the legendary withdrawn "loud" cut of this iconic Beatles LP. The vinyl is clean with just a few light marks, Fully play tested throughout with very little surface noise, mostly quiet between tracks, just light vocal distortion in places, I've read this distortion described as "vocals on this mix sound upfront and aggressive....."  Hmmm.... The simple fact of the matter is the vocals sound distorted in places on this mix, this is the reason George Martin insisted EMI withdraw it a day or two after it's release. Production was halted whilst the tapes were tweaked and remastered. All subsequent pressing were cut from the new master tapes. For great audio seek out a second pressing.... All said this is a decent condition 1st pressing (zoom into the pics) The inner sleeve is clean and free from any splits or tears, the sleeve is as pictured, minor ware and slight discolouring to rear. A rare record. One for the completest.

Vinyl Grade:   VG+    some would grade higher, on 1st glance looks EX but close inspection justifies a VG+ grading

Sleeve Grade:  VG+  Overall looks better but discolouring to rear holds it back from and EX grading.

GRADING DEFINITION GUIDE:

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. 

Near Mint (NM) Vinyl will be virtually Mint as new but not sealed, possibly had a handful of plays but no surface marks or other defects. Sleeve is Virtually as near new as you will find, no creases no wear.

Excellent Plus (EX+) The Vinyl is better than EX but not quite near mint, Occasionally this may mean the odd feint sleeve removal mark or wispy hairline visible in strong light, but no proper surface marks. The sleeve may have feint creasing or very slight handling marks but still in great shape.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, very light hairlines and none audible marks is acceptable, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. 

Very Good Plus (VG+) The Record will have a few visible light surface marks causing a few light "pips" on playback. Some deterioration in audio quality but very little to spoil the overall listening experience.  The Cover and additional items will have storage related ware, light scuffing and general ware should be expected. 

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times and this is evident on playback, however there should be no major deterioration in sound quality, despite light surface marks and light scratches. Wear and tear on the cover, scuffing, edge wear, minor seam splits etc, are all to be expected. 

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion The Record surface will have visible scratches.The cover and contents will suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc
