VINYL GRADING (PLEASE READ):  Please note that all the records I sell are from my personal collection and were barely played on a high-end audio system before being filed away and carefully stored for decades.  I do NOT sell records that are worn, scratched, mildewed, warped, or otherwise unlistenable -- or even unpleasant to listen to -- on a high-end audio system. 

However, please keep in mind that many U.S. records sold in the 1970's and 80's -- especially re-issues -- were pressed on recycled vinyl, which often contained impurities that appear on the record surface as random streaks, swirls, stray marks, or other blemishes. 

Prior to listing these records, each one was visually inspected under strong lighting for any physical anomalies (as described above) that might affect sound quality.  If any were noted, the record was carefully tested on a high-end turntable to determine if clicks, static, or other distortion could be heard at that point on the disc.  If so, the record was eliminated from being listed for sale.    

Accordingly, my vinyl ratings do NOT indicate the playback quality of the record.  ALL records listed here should play and sound like any new - or practically new - LP released in the U.S. during the 1970's and 80's -- with just the occasional pop or click typical of U.S. pressings.  Instead, the vinyl ratings indicate only the physical appearance of the record.  A record rated MINT shows no blemishes and virtually none of the impurities often seen on the surface of a U.S. record released in the 1970's and 80's.  A record rated EXCELLENT or VERY GOOD does show some of those blemishes and impurities under strong lighting, but still sounds as clean and quiet as a record rated MINT.  If it didn't, it wouldn't be listed for sale.
