It's been said before that New Zealand electronic duo Pitch Black make music that's 'mind bending and dubby'. We couldn't imagine anyone being able to disagree, least of all us. The outfit's history, stretching back to the mid-1990s, should tell you what to expect in terms of genuinely timeless dance and rave culture; sounds that are big stage but easily workable into smaller, sweatier environs.

'Data Diviner' is a stunning acid builder that owes as much to techno as it does darkroom progressive house, 'Electronic Earth' submerges us in a low-shouldered groove, roots references carried through via organ stabs and the clatter of background percussion. 'The 48 Skanks' goes more for the jugular via a pulsating techno bass set to throbbing kick drums, before we head into drum 'n' bass tempos on the spatial and spacey breaks of 'Unadrumma'.
