Berlin club Watergate is known for its futuristic LED walls and sleek design. The label arm is a place to hear the sort of sounds you would expect to be served up inside the place, and this new one from Hyenah is one of the most interesting for a while. It brings a dub sensibility - both in the cavernous rolling drums and vocal delivery to opener 'The Message'. It becomes a more familiar tech house track when Henrik Schwarz adds his spin, then on the flip 'Soul Rise' recalls early Carl Craig techno with its elegance and machine based soul. 'Not Enough' closes out this decidedly Afro tinged and dub heavy EP.
