To celebrate the album's 25th birthday, Bobby Bird has decided to release a freshly re-mastered version of his second studio album as Higher Intelligence Agency, Freefloater. It further distils the saucer-eyed musical template he developed (initially with the assistance of then studio partner Steve Chandra Savale) on 1993 debut Colourform. That means a decidedly intergalactic, frequently psychedelic blend of IDM electronics, mind-mangling TB-303 lines, dub basslines, ambient textures and mutant electro beats. It's considered by many to be an "ambient electro" classic and we'd have to agree. Thanks to Bird's painstaking re-mastering work, it also sounds better than ever.
