For the latest missive on his self-titled imprint, Aba-Shanti-I has decided to dip into his bulging box of unreleased 1990s dubplates and offer up a quartet of killer productions, all of which are credited to the Shanti-Ites. 'Horn of Africa' is a typically weighty slab of digi-reggae goodness that comes backed by the arguably superior - and formidably dancefloor-focussed - steppers style 'Horn of Dub' version. Over on the flip, 'Lightening' is a far breezier, lighter and jazzier take on the traditional Aba-Shanti digi-dub sound, while 'Lightening Dub' is a more skeletal and sub-heavy revision which nevertheless makes great use of the producer's vibraphone style melodies.
