For his latest trick, beat-maker, remixer and mash-up artist extraordinaire Djar-One has decided to showcase the rhymes of veteran mic-man Phill Most Chill, an MC who has been laying down lyrics on wax for well over 30 years. His trademark fast-paced flow and impactful lyrics make a great match for Djar-One's bustling beats and samples, which niftily recall the "hype" days of mid-to-late 80s dancefloor hip-hop. Our pick of the pair is A-side 'Another Level', where Phill Most Chill rides a bombastic, scratch-happy backing track laden with grizzled guitar riffs and nods towards the stomping hedonism of Northern Soul. That said, plenty of DJs will also reach for the similarly party-starting flipside 'I Luv That Girl', and that's fair enough; after all, it is another golden-era style club slammer.
