Welcome to G-Town, a new techno label from Ireland's Kettama, who is a producer with a fine reputation now deciding to do things on his own terms. He wastes no time in laying down a heavyweight, bulky, earth moving techno banger that has warmth and heart in its gigantic kicks. '5 Pound Spesh' is more gritty and textural, with corse metal surfaces and rib rattling dub chords. Last fall is the hammering, Shed-style big room techno of 'Ski Mask.' These are high functioning techno tools that also have plenty of charm.
