Adapted from the Gregory Maguire novel of the same name, Wicked flips the script on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by offering the perspective of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West. She meets the peppy and capital-p Popular Galinda at school and their personalities clash. They fall for the same guy, navigate through a corrupt government overseen by the Wizard and eventually see Elphaba’s fall from grace.
