Legere Recordings out of Hamburg present PM Warson, part of the UK's vibrant, modernist rhythm & blues lineage. Warson established himself by self-releasing raw cut 45s in the vein of the independent studios of the '50s and '60s. Recorded direct to tape with a live rhythm section, just before the global lockdown of 2020, his debut LP True Story features the 2019 single '(Don't) Hold Me Down Pt. 1 & 2' and 'To Be Alone With You'. Elsewhere, there's the catchy swagger of 'Seen You Around', hear him incorporating elements of acid jazz and swing on the infectious 'I Don't Need No Doctor' and closing it out with the emotive ballad '(Just) Call My Name'.
