This auction is for an Excellent EXTREMELY RARE Antique EDISON 1924 HOLIDAY GREETINGS DISC PHONOGRAPH RECORD . The record is in great playable condition!
Recorded and issued ONLY to Edison Phonograph dealers and ONLY in the Fall of 1924, this SPECIAL Christmas Greetings Edison Diamond Disc record was sent to the relatively few remaining Edison Phonograph Dealers in later 1924.
This record was intended to bolster the "sales spirit" of those remaining Edison Phonograph Dealers for the 1924 Christmas season.
Edison cylinder record sales were almost dead at this time and Edison Diamond Disc record sales were in a steady decline primarily due to the growing customer interest in Radio and competing record companies like Victor and Columbia.
This recording features Edison Phonograph Division Managers speaking...
AS WELL AS CHARLES EDISON and THOMAS EDISON HIMSELF each sharing a brief Christmas Greetings message to Edison Phonograph dealers.
One of the Edison Phonograph Division Managers on the recordings says: "we know what you're up against" {1924 was a bad sales year} "1925 is sure to be a better year".
This Edison Diamond Disc was NEVER MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
This Edison Diamond Disc record is indeed very rare and of historical significance.
The record is in excellent condition.
I will also be listing additional Edison records including the VERY RARE 1924 EDISON HOLIDAY DISC, A RED LETTER DISC AND PAINTED ADVERTISING DISC
The photos in the listing take precedence over any written description.
This would make an excellent addition to any Antique Phonograph Collection.
I will combine shipping as much as I can.
I can take additional pictures if needed.
Please contact me with any questions that you may have before bidding.
