Grading is based on visual inspection.

I package records outside the cover to avoid seam splits.

New and vintage vinyl is hard to grade strictly using eBay’s system because the record and the cover are two different components. Therefore, I call a record new and mint if it is opened but has never been played.  I use the grading category to describe the cover condition.

This is a First Pressing of the original 1971 release. Recorded in 1970. Extensive liner notes by renowned Ellington biographer Stanley Dance. This copy has never been played. The matte, gatefold cover has tight seams, a stiff spine and shows slight shelf wear. The inner sleeve is the Atlantic Record catalog photos. This is a one-owner that the Seller got new in his record store in 1971. It has been in storage for 50 years.
