Under the New Order banner, Peter Hook, Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert have given us some of the most iconic music of the last 35 years. The band helped to shape dance music into how we recognise it in this day and age, and it's fair to say that they helped to transform Manchester into another district of Detroit and Chicago back in the 1980s. This new compilation, out on the Factory Benelux imprint, features some of their most important and genre-defining dance work between 1981 and 1985, when the term Be Music was coined. While not under the New Order moniker, all of these tracks were produced by its various members - Section 25, A Certain Ratio, and 52nd Street are just some of the names on here, as well as a rampant selection of contemporary remixes from the likes of Marnie, Tim Burgess and Factory Floor.
