The Beatles / 1962 - 1966 'The Red Album' 2LP 2nd Press 1978 w/Sticker

This second pressing is in superb condition and plays to a very high standard on every side.  The clarity and depth of the audio is so impressive and having played every track in full I can safely say there is hardly any interference.  Just three clicks and no background static.

Pressed on iridescent red vinyl the records are visually stunning with no spindle wear.  I suspect it was purchased as a collectors item and have hardly been played in my opinion.

The laminated gatefold is in excellent condition overall with only a little wear which is described in detail below.  The red lyric inners (rounded corners) are superb with no side splits etc.

This pressing was cut by Harry T Moss who of course is known as one of the finest mastering / cutting engineers of his day.

Visual description
The vinyls are in lovely condition and still have that original bright red visual 'look' with a very glossy sheen also.  There are no scratches and only a minimal amount of faint mottling on S2 and S3 which you can only see when you hold the vinyls at a certain angle.  Not very much either.  A small number of faint hairlines only and NO spindle wear!  The labels are immaculate.
Play grading  

This time round I will not describe each track in detail as I usually do.  My usual grading standards still apply though as I still played every track in full so I will only mention any interference / background that I have found.  The first record plays with superb audio with only a couple of clicks on 'And I Love Her' on S2.  Aside from that the clarity is stunning, a little inner groove distortion as you approach the end of each side but then you expect that. 

S3 is close to perfect with just one dull click right at the start of the 'Day Tripper' intro.  'Norwegian Wood' does seem to have an odd heavy type bass sound in the background on the final third but otherwise plays very clearly.  S4 play exceptionally well with no issues other than a couple of minor ticks.  Superb audio across all four sides with hardly any interference!

The Gatefold & Lyric Inners

The laminated G & L cover has only minimal wear and this is restricted to a couple of areas only.  I will describe!  It has always been kept inside a gatefold pvc sleeve and has resulted in the right edge of the pvc sticking to the cover so when you try to remove it it takes away some flecks of the 'red' below leaving some marks below.  It is the same on the back cover on the left edge so the best thing is to keep the pvc sleeve on so you can't see the removal marks on either side.  I hope that is clear!  Aside from that the cover is in superb condition and still has the all important sticker in the top right corner which remains in perfect Mint condition.  The edges and wide spine are unmarked and the corners are also in superb shape.  The opening edges have hardly any handling wear and front and back cover are very clean apart from the 'marking' as stated.  The inside of the gatefold is immaculate - a fine example overall which has retained its original shape and structure perfectly.

The red lyric inners are practically 'as new' with only minor ringwear but let's be honest you're not going to escape that as they are only made of paper!

Play tested on my Rega P2 Turntable / Denon PMA-520AE Amp / B&W 684 Speakers

The records have been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
