Led Zeppelin : Presence A2 / B1
This A2 / B1 matrix is the third variation of the first pressing and I am pleased to say it plays with stunning quality for the vast majority.  With only a couple of light clicks on S2 and a very small number of minor ticks the clarity of sound is very impressive and there is no denying the power and depth of the audio on offer here.  The vinyl is very clean with only a small number of faint hairlines and has not been played very much based on the audio and that there is almost no spindle wear.
The gatefold is one of the finest you will ever see!  It is in beautiful condition with no obvious wear and the picture inner is also in exceptional condition with no marking etc.
As it is such an early pressing it has Led Zeppelin and Presence embossed on the front and the Apollo logo embossed on the back.  It also has Made In UK on the labels as opposed to Manufactured In UK which is on later pressings.

The audio on S1 is Mint(-) (T2 opening section Ex+)
The audio on S2 is Mint(-) (T4 Ex+)
The gatefold is Near Mint

The labels are Mint-
Visual description
The vinyl is in lovely condition and still retains a healthy glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  Under a bright light I can only see a small number of faint hairlines and there is nothing that stands out.  There is no groove wear precisely because the vinyl has not been played very much and the Swan Song labels are immaculate with barely any spindle wear.
Play grading
The quiet build up on 'Achilles Last Stand' plays very clearly with just one crackle at the very start and as the track 'kicks into gear' the audio is so strong and deep and there is no interference.  The opening vocal section is 'as new' and it continues to play with exceptional quality.  I have often thought the production levels on this album are not as strong as their previous offerings but now I have a Rega P2 the sonic quality is certainly enhanced.  Page's mid solo is stunning with no distortion on the top end and Bonham's usual power is very much in evidence here.  In fact the power and depth of the audio is superb!  This standard is kept up to the very end and even the long fade out plays perfectly.  Ok one crackle at the start so I won't grade as Mint but I still think Mint- is deserved.
'For Your Life' has four quiet ticks on the intro and then Plant's first vocal has only a couple of minor background ticks.  From then on it plays with stunning quality and what you do notice is how strong Jones' bass sound is throughout this track.  The depth and resonance of the audio is so impressive and aside from the handful of light ticks at the start you cannot fault the quality of the audio.  I will grade the opening section as Ex+ and the remainder as Mint- at the very least.
'Royal Orleans' is always affected by a tinny distorted sound but I have to say this is a very 'clean' version.  There is only a minimal amount here and it plays with no ticks, clicks, pops or static.  A Mint- version to end the side.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The intro on 'Nobody's Fault But Mine' plays with great clarity and barely any static and as Bonham and Jones come in the sonic quality is superb.  Plant's opening vocal is 'as new' and it continues in the same way.  The momentary 'silent' sections are totally silent and the mid instrumental is so strong and again there is no distortion.  The more I listen to it the more I am impressed by it!  A couple of minor static ticks that is all.  Page's solo near the end is immense and the final section has no background either.  A Mint- version.
'Candy Store Rock' plays with stunning audio right from the word go.  Every vocal and instrumental plays to the highest standard possible with zero interference.  A perfect Mint track.
'Hots On For Nowhere' just has one mega light tick on the intro and then plays very clearly from then on.  There is no actual interference just a couple of minor static ticks that obviously are not intrusive.  Mint-
The intro on 'Tea For One' is close to perfect with just one minor tick and the first 'quiet' section plays very clearly with only a small number of dust ticks and a couple of light clicks just before the vocal.  Plant's first vocal is very clean with only a couple of minor ticks and from then on the audio is so strong and deep and there is no interference.  The first high octane section with Page and Bonham in unison is stunning and the following quiet section plays with great clarity and only a handful of mega light ticks.  A superb listen and the final vocal is faultless also.  So much of this 10 minute epic plays so quietly of course and there is only minimal background on the first quiet passage.  The clarity and depth of the audio is hugely impressive - difficult to grade in a way.  I think Ex+ is a fair assessment but many sections do play better than that.
In summary this very early pressing plays to a very high standard with only very minimal interference as detailed above.  The clarity and depth on every track is very impressive and whilst 'Tea For One' does have a couple of light clicks the vast majority does play with real quality.  The vinyl has clearly not been overplayed so if you want great audio with a FANTASTIC cover and inner then this is the one to own!
The Gatefold & Picture Inner
This cover is notoriously found in poor condition because it is so 'white' but this is easily one of the best I have ever seen!  The edges and corners are perfect and the wide spine is close to that with only one minor compressed area and it remains 100% legible.  The opening edge is pristine.  The embossed front cover is unbelievably clean with only one tiny speck (!) and the back cover with the embossed Apollo logo is just as impressive.  The inside of the gatefold is immaculate and I have no hesitation in grading this cover as Near Mint it is very close to perfect!
The textured inner is also in beautiful condition (how rare is that?!) with no side splits or tears and no marking or creasing either.  It just has that common faint brown line running down each edge on one side due to the glue holding it together showing through.  It can't be avoided!
