Deep Purple : Stormbringer A1 / B1
This first pressing plays with stunning precision on both sides with no interference.  The sonic quality is exceptional and it plays like it has never been played before!  There are no clicks, pops or static and you really cannot the clarity.  It is easily a FINAL UPGRADE album the likes of which are rarely found today.  It is also visually stunning with no marks or scratches.
The cover is in fantastic condition with no obvious wear and the original inner is practically 'as new'.
This first pressing has 'EMI Records Ltd...' around the top perimeter edge, the A1U/B1U matrix and also KENDUN stamped on both run out grooves.  The G&L cover has 7411 on the back which of course relates to the release date.

Visual grading
The vinyl is in superb condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen with no marks or scratches.  It only has a few very faint sleeve removal hairlines but they obviously have no affect on the audio.  There is no groove wear or 'bag rash' and the run out grooves are also very clean.  There is some spindle wear on the labels but they otherwise remain in great order with no marking or writing and and have retained their original colour extremely well.
Play grading
The title track 'Stormbringer' plays with stunning quality from the first groove to the last.  The power and depth here is particularly impressive and the clarity equally so with not even a single dust tick let alone anything more.  Every section plays to perfection and such a strong riff also!  This is without question a Mint start to the album.
The intro on 'Love Don't Mean A Thing' is 'as new' and it continues to play to a superb standard with no intrusion at all.  There are no ticks, clicks, pops and no background static either.  Just pure Mint audio from start to finish and that includes the long fade out also.
The quiet intro on 'Holy Man' again plays with amazing clarity and the first verse and chorus play with perfect precision also.  From then on it plays with sublime quality and with a clarity and definition that belies its 47 years of age.  A superb Mint version.
'Hold On' once again demonstrates just how well this record has been preserved.  The intro has no interference and this clarity is more than maintained throughout the entire track.  Blackmore may not have been happy with the direction Purple were taking but there is no denying the quality of the audio here.  There is no inner groove distortion and this easily qualifies as another Mint track.  A STUNNING side of music!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------   'Lady Double Dealer' plays with outstanding power and depth from the get go and this is prevalent throughout.  In other words it could not play any better - the sonic quality is flawless.  A powerful number that is Mint in every sense of the word.
'You Can't Do It Right (With The One You Love' is of the same 'high end' standard with no intrusion on the audio.  As always I have listened to the track in full so as to provide a comprehensive grading and Mint is again very much deserved.
The intro on 'High Ball Shooter' is so close to perfect with only a couple of barely audible ticks and from then on it plays with sensational clarity and power and...no interference.  A 'high octane' number and yet the playback cannot be faulted - there is no distortion on the top end.  Lord's mid section solo is a prime example of that.  A stunning Mint- version.
The percussive opening on 'The Gypsy' has no 'background' and the rest of the intro is just as good.  The first verse is perfect and it continues to play with exceptional quality you will not be surprised to hear.  The long instrumental section that brings the track to a close provides further evidence of a vinyl that has been so carefully looked after down the years.  Dare I say another Mint track.
The quiet acoustic intro on 'Soldier Of Fortune' plays beautifully with no interference and the opening is almost as good.  Almost.  Perhaps just a minor amount of vocal distortion on a couple of lines but so so minor it has to be said!  It still plays with imperious quality and it continues in very much the same way.  This is quite possibly the finest version of this classic that I have ever heard - the sonic quality is so strong and there are no ticks, clicks, pops or background static to get in the way of this emotive track.  There is barely any distortion truth be told and each note can be heard so clearly.  I will however grade as Near Mint just to err on the side of caution.  A beautiful version nonetheless that ends the album with hugely impressive audio.
In summary this first pressing plays to a fantastic standard with no interference and the clarity, power and depth of the audio is quite simply out of this world.  Yes it has been played judging by the spindle wear but it has lost none of its original sonic quality.  There are no clicks, pops or background static and I cannot overstate just how clean the playback is.  The cover is also in wonderful condition and it is obvious this album has been very carefully looked after over the years.
The Cover & Inner Sleeve
The G & L cover is in superb condition with barely any wear which is impressive when you consider it isn't laminated.  The edges and spine are practically 'as new' and even the corners are in great shape with no obvious wear.  The opening edge is pristine and the front cover has no marking of any kind.  In fact the only 'wear' are some of the usual faint crease lines around the edges.  The back cover is exactly the same and overall this is a stunning example of this cover, you will not find a better one!
The original plain white die-cut inner is in fantastic condition with no side splits or tears, no marking and barely any creasing.  'As new' you could say!  Patent No 1,125,555 and Made In England is printed on one side.
