Widely revered Greek electronic composer Vangelis was deep into his blues and jazz at the time he wrote this soundtrack. It is a concept album based around space physics and the title itself is based on a planet's albedo which is the proportion of the light it receives that is then reflected back into space. The record is full of glistening sci-fi electronics and otherworldly atmospheres and was the first Vangelis album to make the UK album charts. He played all the instruments on the record and with its elements of gentle rock and jazz it is truly immersive.
