In 1982, obscure singer Kitty Grant joined forces with producer Chaz Jankel to record a swathe of tracks that would eventually end up on her Japan-only album !D.a.s.h. Chief amongst these was a cover of Jankel and Ian Dury's 1981 hit 'Glad to Know You', which failed to chart but has since become a firm favourite of dusty-fingered DJs the world over. In truth, it's not that different to Jankel's version - given he played and produced it, that's no surprise - but it is hugely entertaining and you could argue that Grant does a better job than he did of delivering Dury's typically eccentric lyrics. This much-needed reissue also includes the original B-side, a Jankel-produced funky synth-pop strut-along called 'Stop Wasting Your Time'.
