If you've heard Lucy Dacus' recent single, 'Brando', then it should be pretty clear that on album number three the Virginia, USA singer songwriter is as confident and mature as we could ever ask - that track alone being a middle finger up to everyone from childhood critics to the lovers that jilted us for reasons we knew were completely misguided, and largely based on misjudgements.
Of course this is slightly more complex than that. Home Video sets itself very much in past experiences, namely living in and among Christian youth culture during the early-2000s, as Dacus did. Nevertheless, these emotions ring true no matter who your jury was, and the sentiments throughout confirm a sense of self-knowing looking back on self-doubt. All wrapped up in melodic indie rock.
