Mercury Living Presence Stereo SR6-9014   Six Record Box Set  Made in USA,  date unknown Condition: VG+, a few sides are VG+ but the majority of the vinyl is NM or close to NM. Nice copy of an early Mercury Living Presence issue. The box cover is only attached by a thin overlapping paper from the cover and is mostly separated and about to break apart, perhaps on the next opening. Partial name stamp on front cover. There is also light writing in pencil (easily erasable) on the sleeves that identifies the record sides and content, useful so that you don't have to remove the lp and look. Original sleeves otherwise in nice condition and the original cardboard inserts will be included along with the insert. Notable are the violin solos performed by Rafael Durian in the complete Swan Lake. This is also the first recording of the complete versions of these ballets.   SR-90350 A-RFR-1   SR-90351 A-RFR-1   SR-90352 A-RFR-1   SR-90353 A-RFR-1   SR-90354 A-RFR-1  SR-90355 A-RFR-1   SR-90355 B-RFR-1   SR-90354 B-RFR-1   SR-90353 B-RFR-1   SR-90352 B-RFR-1  SR-90351 B-RFR-1   SR-90350 B-RFR-1

I am liquidating a large 47 year old collection of Classical lps and will be listing items periodically.  Many string soloists, chamber music, orchestral items and others.

Mint condition is only used for sealed records. The grades I assign are generally for the vinyl lp only. I DO PLAY TEST MY RECORDS BY LISTENING TO THEM PRIOR TO LISTING. Time consuming for me but you know what you are getting.

As far as the covers go, look at the pictures and ask questions if needed. I will mention any flaws that might not be evident in the pics. That being said, honest mistakes and differences of opinion in grading can happen, so if the lp is not as described, please contact me within 7 days to arrange a return and refund (buyer pays return postage).

GOLDMINE GRADING

MINT ---- It should appear to be perfect. No scuffs or scratches, blotches or stains, labels or writing, tears or splits. Mint means perfect.

NEAR MINT ---- Otherwise mint but has one or two tiny inconsequential flaws that do not affect play. Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident: slight ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should all be noted properly.

VERY GOOD PLUS ---- The record has been handled and played infrequently or very carefully. Not too far from perfect. On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or the vinyl or some of the original luster may be lost. A slight scratch that did not affect play would be acceptably VG+ for most collectors.

VERY GOOD ---- Record displays visible signs of handling and playing, such as loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches, groove wear and spindle trails. Some audible surface noise, but should not overwhelm the musical experience. Usually a cover is VG when one or two of these problems are evident: ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, etc.

GOOD ---- Well played with little luster and significant surface noise. Despite defects, record should still play all the way through without skipping. Several cover flaws will be apparent, but should not obliterate the artwork.

POOR ---- Any record or cover that does not qualify for the above grading should be seen as Poor. Several cover flaws.
