Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 album that I have acquired over a period of more than 45 years! An awesome original very earliest pressing originally released in 1989.

The most important thing about this copy is the absolutely stunning audio quality and feel. This copy is up there as one of the best sounding copies of this album that I have heard! Looks and sounds just like it would have when it came from the shop

Purchased from new over 30 years ago. Initially only ever played this to record to tape and then stored in a case with the vinyl separated from the sleeve and cover for protection. This is how I have always stored my records! Earliest possible A-1 and B-1 Matrix. Superb crystal clear and vibrant very near as mint audio quality very, very hard to find like this. Note: I find it hard to see any spider traces around the spindle hole. A beautiful sounding copy! One of the best sounding copies of this album that I have ever heard. This is complete with the original cover in straight condition also with light storage wear only to mention. The vinyl looks barely ever played in my opinion, certainly not over played. The audio delivery was lovely clear and vibrant throughout. Graded near mint.

What is truly exceptional is the awesome audio quality, rare like this a beauty!

Phantom Blue was an all-female American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California, United States, formed in 1987.


Phantom Blue were the first and only female artists to be signed to Mike Varney's Shrapnel Records, only three months after forming.



Phantom Blue was formed in 1988 in Hollywood, California by Michelle Meldrum and Nicole Couch. Couch and Meldrum were students of Paul Gilbert and Bruce Bouillet of Racer X.


Michelle Meldrum had played with drummer Linda McDonald in previous projects and together with vocalist Gigi Hangach and original bassist, Debra Armstrong. Armstrong left the band in June 1988, prior to the band signing with Shrapnel Records, in October 1988, and was replaced by Kim Nielsen, a student of John Alderete, bassist for Racer X and The Mars Volta.


Phantom Blue recorded their self-titled first album with the help of producer Steve Fontano and fellow Shrapnel label mate, Marty Friedman.


Couch and Meldrum also co-wrote a track on the album with Marty Friedman.


Roadrunner Records, who owned the bands European distribution rights, were responsible for the band shooting a video for the single "Why Call It Love?" and a successful European tour followed.




Phantom Blue is the self-titled first studio album by all-female heavy metal band Phantom Blue, released in 1989 through Shrapnel Records (United States) and Roadrunner Records (Europe and Japan). Guitarist Marty Friedman, at the time a member of the band Cacophony, and later of Megadeth, is credited as a co-producer.



According to drummer Linda McDonald, the music video for "Why Call It Love?" was filmed within a maximum security prison in Carson City, Nevada.

The vinyl

On initial inspection it is hard to see a blemish at all,  this looks as new in my opinion and gleems still retaining its sheen from new, This looks unplayed in my opinion.  The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free from any warping.

Even in strong light this looks awesome, Please note most of the vinyls storage life it has been in a separate poly sleeve to minimise any sleeve removal marks\scuffs. Any marks that could possibly ever be seen under a strong light would only be just light wyspy scuffs/sleeve removal. 

The Audio Quality

Any who know this album would appreciate that there are many quiet slow parts and this audio is absolutely exceptional crystal clear and vibrant through out with (no) loud constant clicks or pops and certainly no skips or jumps! More importantly (no) distortion or any signs that this has been overplayed ,infact this has barely been played at all! Cristal clear and very vibrant audio original UK press!

Very Nice playable and enjoyable copy!Audio Graded Near mint in my opinion. 

Please note! This vinyl has been stored in a case laying dormant for many years, A build up of dirt and dust in the grooves causes static crackle\ticks!,,A constant clean before each play is recommended! This will reduce any static and will enhance the audio quality!

 

The labels

These are the original Roadrunner labels.  

Amazingly I find it hard to see any spider traces even when looked at an angled in strong light ! Little if no spindle wear the spindle hole is perfectly round with absolutely no ware at all that I can see! All indications are that this has barely ever been played in my opinion.

 

The record sleeve

This is a plain white paper sleeve. No edge splits or tears clean and straight.
Note: the record is now always stored seperately from the sleeve and cover. This is how I have always stored my records.

The cover

This is the original 1st issue, 1st Dutch Press un-laminated glossy cover, in exceptional condition throughout. . Any storage wear noticed is only if looked for only in my opinion  but you have to look to notice any in my opinion.  Amazingly no real nasty creases to mention. The spine is square and all writing is readable. light indents only.  Graded at least better than excellent in my opinion!
