Uriah Heep : Demons And Wizards A2/B1

For this auction I am selling a number of progressive/heavy rock records that have been so well preserved down the years and many of them hardly played.  I am moving house soon so want to 'shift' a lot of my stock quickly so unfortunately do not have the time to describe each track in detail as I generally do.  However, I will still play every track in full (such a chore!) so as to provide a 'complete' grading.

This early pressing plays with superb audio with only minimal interference for a few seconds during 'Poet's Justice' on S1 and to be honest it is not that intrusive anyway.  All the other tracks play with amazing clarity and power.

The gatefold is in great condition with very little wear and the original lyric inner is 'as new'.

Visual grading

The vinyl is in lovely condition and still has an immaculate jet-black glossy sheen.  There are just three very small scratches on track four that cause only minimal interference but apart from that it is visually stunning for sure.  I cannot even locate any obvious hairlines.  The Bronze labels are super clean with no marking and only one faint spindle trace on each.

Play Grading

'The Wizard' plays with impeccable quality from start to finish with no intrusion, the clarity is outstanding, and 'as new' is an honest appraisal of the audio.  'Traveller In Time' more than keeps this standard and even the long fade out has no 'background'.  'Easy Livin' plays with tremendous power and depth and there is no distortion on the top end.  Another Mint track.  'Poet's Justice' plays with great clarity for the majority with only a small number of crackle/click sounds during the instrumental section.  'Circle Of Hands' has a sonic quality that cannot be faulted.  The audio is so strong and there is no interference and it provides a stunning end to the side.

S2 begins with a superb version of 'Rainbow Demon' - the playback is unbelievably good!  It plays like it was pressed only yesterday!  'All My Life' carries on this fine form and plays with flawless precision and 'Paradise' also plays with STUNNING quality with literally no interference.  'The Spell' ends the album with 'high end' audio with a clarity, power and warmth that cannot be beaten.  A couple of minor ticks that is all but this classic track delivers on every level for sure.

The Gatefold & Inner Sleeve

The cover is in lovely condition with barely any shelf wear.  The edges have hardly any rubbing and the wide spine is also in fantastic condition.  The corners are very strong with no obvious wear and the opening edge is pristine.  The front cover is very clean with just one minor white rub 'line' near the bottom edge and some light rubbing top right.  The back cover is unmarked and the inside is immaculate.  The die-cut lyric inner is in perfect shape and looks untouched aside from a handful of very faint fingerprints.

This record has been professionally cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
