A song by American singer Madonna from her album True Blue ('86), the instrumental was offered to Michael Jackson first before Madonna accepted it & wrote the lyrics & melody. It is noted for being her 1st song to contain Latino influences, with arrangements of Cuban drums, Spanish guitar, maracas, harmonicas & a mix of synthesized & real drumming. The lyrics tell of a "beautiful island" & per Madonna, is a tribute to the beauty of the Latinos. Critically acclaimed, it became her 4th #1 single in the UK (giving her the record for most #1 singles for a female artist at the time).
