Stimulator Jones hails from Roanoke, Virginia, a place of beautiful nature and lots of wildlife. That is capture din the music and the artwork of his new album, which is packed with home studio jams. Soul, disco, dub and R&B all infuse this collection of instrumental beat tracks. The artist himself says these are "pure, uncut, straight forward beats - no clever arrangements, no cerebral overindulgence, no cute stuff, no vocals." But that's not to say they are compelling. Some go deep and dirty, some are sweet as honey and others drift by like a lone cloud in a clear blue summer sky. Perfect for lazy afternoons and stoner sessions.
