This week I am posting the contents of another storage unit buy. This buy was SUPER heavy in disco funk electro boogie 70s/80s goodness. Some obscure stuff, some outright classics and in general just a lot of LPs. The previous owner was obviously in the military and served a bit in Europe as there are a ton of German and Dutch pressings in the mix.
The Bad News
While these records were well cared for, many still in shrink, a ton were improperly stored. As a result, most of these have a light edge warp or dish warp that does not affect play and BUT SOME HAVE MORE SERIOUS WARP. Items with a more serious warp are noted with a sticky note that says "WARP" - those are LPs that I would not put my stylus on but would be an easy fix if you are so inclined - search around, there are many good methods. Here in the desert I use two pieces of glass and the sunshine. In some of the larger lots I am selling I did not condition each one of them individually. If you have questions about a particular LP send me a note. As a result of not individually conditioning them I may have missed things like seam splits, missing inserts, etc. Look at it this way, you’re probably picking this up for a deal. Normally I bag and ship LPs outside of the sleeve, since I am selling SO many, I will bag lots that sell for over $40 and all individual LPs. Our collector here literally wrote his name in ballpoint on the front cover, back cover AND both sides of any inner sleeve (record theft on base must've been real in the 70s/80s). Additionally, our collector gave a star rating and his interpretation of the tempo FOR EACH TRACK. Often written on the inner sleeve or the sleeve itself. The Good News
A lot of these are clean - even the dusty ones that need a clean house a nice LP underneath. They were gently handled and clearly played sparingly or through quality, well maintained equipment. The single LPs I am selling I played on my system (VPI deck with an Ortofon bronze cart played through a restored Scott 222 integrated amp). If you would like to see what I am talking about visually when I talk about the edge warp check out my listing for the Prince LP - I threw a video in that one showing the warp that is as bad of a warp as I would play on my setup. Combine as many as you want for free. I'll probably ship these in multiple shipments if the weight gets above 40lbs.
