Peoples Potential Unlimited quickly became one of our favourite labels not long after it first kicked off. The CD outlet does a fine line in dusty old soul and r&b and lo-fi disco, and this new one carrie son in that fine and left of centre tradition. Sharpp's 'Kinky' pairs the best of original disco attitude with raw as you like percussion, heavenly organ chords and a vocal that is left of centre but soulful. Flip it over for more hard edged disco funk in the form of 'Hard' which has banging drums, twanging guitars and tripped out keys.
