Folky dream pop duo Damon & Naomi have been going since 1991, or even longer if you count their tenure in cult late 80s band Galaxie 500. They return with their fifth record on their own 20/20/20 label, offering that sentimental, subtly gritty strain of songwriting that has won them such a devoted following over the years. If you're not familiar, you might well find their sound and heavy-hearted mood chimes with Low, albeit delivered in a slightly more direct way. The magic of their music lies in the ambiguous emotional note they can strike as the strung out twines of guitar wrap around their fragile but formidable vocal harmonies. Spellbinding stuff.
