Kingston mainstay Johnny Clarke was one of Jamaica's most potent voices back in his day. HIs dad fuelled style and proto-dancehall style won him fans all over the world and gave rise to a fine arsenal of tracks on all the most influential labels. 'Warrior' here for Tuff Scout is indeed a tough rhythm, with his own toasting up top, rugged bass and wispy trumpets adding up to an eight minute masterclass. The flip side is a much more laid back and stoner-paced jam with pleading vocals and tons of reverb making it all the more spacious.
