Awesome copy & First Pressing ! I have listed this as new (not because it's fresh off the press) but because it's a true "Time Machine" copy defying it's age of 55 years since being pressed ! Cover is gorgeous , easily a 9 out of 10 and in much better condition than one often finds a brand new release when it's the last available copy in the bin ! Unlike a "brand new " copy this is true Analogue recorded , Analogue mixed and Analogue transcribed to vinyl and fresh with the First Pressing (Hot Pressing) sound ! You simply will not find a better sounding copy than a first pressing ! How do we know it's a first pressing , you say . Well look in the lower right hand corner of the back cover ( pictures 2 & 3 ) do you see a small number , like 2 or 4 like on one of my other sealed copies ? No , because you will never find a number 1 there on a Motown record denoting first pressing . Oh you might find a number 2 (denoting second pressing) or a number 4 (denoting fourth pressing ) but they didn't mark first pressings with a number at Motown. Also look at corner construction of the cover (looks like a notched corner but that was part & parcel to the construction of the early covers)
There is a tear in the shrink in photo 3 but that is really not corner damage (just a little discoloration there). The old Motown covers were designed such that the corners by the binding appear as slightly notched . this was the design of the cover. There is a slight ding on the top right corner (and you can see that notch there as well). Vinyl & Labels : MINT Cover : EX and still sealed with possible holes or small tears in shrink Enjoy !
