Mary Wells was a core Motown artist until she finally left for good in 1965. She went on to record with 20th Century Fox and then a subsidiary of Atlantic where she worked with the notorious Gerald Sims and Carl Davis. She recorded plenty of music back then that never saw the light of day but has since been unearthed and put out on vinyl. Here for the first time we have two such tunes - there is the Chicago style 'Love Letters' with its soaring soul, and then the flip is 'Hands Off My Baby' and rather nods back to her earlier work with Motown back in Detroit.
