Hallelujah Chicken Band are said to be the band that modernised Zimbabwean music, in turn revolutionising the music industry in their country. The collective first formed when a young trumpet player, Daram Karanga, offered to put together some musicians to entertain workers at a local copper mine. The collective's reputation soon grew even as the line-up continued to change and now this heavyweight reissue Take One pulls together all of their biggest hits. There are also some rare cuts recorded between 1974 and 1979 including, and all have been remastered from original tapes and vinyl sources for the first time since the 1970s.
