The origins of the Rhythm Roots Allstars lie in a spot called Temple Bar, a club in LA which was a hub for the hottest underground funk and soul in the city in the late 90s. The Allstars were the house band, and the collective has remained strong through the decades, co-writing Grammy-winning And The Anonymous Nobody by De La Soul and recording with the likes of Aloe Blacc and Ghostface Killah. It's hard to believe then that this is the band's first solo release, but here we are, and they don't disappoint. On the A side, 'Say I Do' brings a warm R&B flavour with Fishbone's John Arthur Bigham on vocals, while the flip throws down a searing hot instrumental which speaks to the Allstars' years of experience turning out the club.
