Japanese powerhouse composer Masayoshi Takanaki has a rather large and accomplished discography. Few do jazz-funk better than he, and many of his albums are being reissued right now. Brazilian Skies does exactly what it says on the tin. It dates back to 1978 and was the fourth studio album the jazz fusion guitarist. Its eight cuts are peppered with bird calls, shuffling samba rhythms and sunny synths. The titular track is a lush one with tropical acoustic guitar riffs and ad-libbed vocals that bring the soul.
