Conductor, arranger and multi-instrumentalist Hermeto Paschoal's 1973 studio album A Musica Livre De Hermeto Paschoal was the first he recorded in Brazil, and his second solo long player overall. It is the most experimental record he ever committed to tape and shows off his wide range of sounds on beautiful themes like the 'Bebe' which was sampled in 1994 by Japanese acid-jazz group United Future Organization and is one of his most classic tracks, and well-known tunes like 'Asa Branca' and 'Carinhoso'. On the wonderful 'Sereiarei' you can hear an "orchestra" of pigs, geese and other animals. What a doozy. .
