Punk/Hardcore
Bad Religion began work on their fourth album here, No Control, while touring in support of their previous album, Suffer (1988). Stylistically faster than its predecessor, the album owes more to hardcore punk, though it no less works in Bad Religion's trademark melodic protest-song style. Notably, it was the first of their albums not to feature a lineup change from the previous album. Having brought the band together, it just so happened that the album would bring a modicum of success in Southern California, as this would be the point at which they'd start to garner a following. Now considered an enduring landmark in hardcore punk, It contains many of the band's live staples: 'Change of Ideas', 'Big Bang', and 'Sometimes I Feel Like' included.
