The Rolling Stones : Sticky Fingers A3 / B4 with Insert & fully working PAN zip
This early pressing in a word is stunning! Having played every track in full I can confirm the audio really is of the highest standard - the clarity, depth, warmth and power is on a level so rarely found today. No ticks, clicks, pops or static the audio is so clean and precise, it is a FINAL UPGRADE in every sense. There are of course a number of quiet sections and yet there is no intrusion whatsoever. The vinyl has some light hairlines but this has no impact on the incredible quality of the audio.
The famous (infamous!) cover is in great condition and has been so well preserved down the years. It has no obvious wear and hopefully the photos do it justice! It has the large PAN zip which still works perfectly and the original insert is also in lovely condition.
This is of course not a genuine first press as it does have the 'Promotone...' inscription on the labels. The album was released in the UK in April ' 71 and the 'Promotone' company was only founded in September of that year. Still a very early pressing though!

The audio on S2 is Mint(-)
The cover is a very strong Ex
The insert is Near Mint
The labels are Mint-Play grading
The opening riff / intro on 'Brown Sugar' plays perfectly and Jagger's opening vocal section is just as strong. The power and depth of the audio is stunning and it doesn't stop! The mid instrumental could not play any better and as per so Stones' tracks it owes so much to Richards' classic sound. To the end it plays 'as new' with zero intrusion and is definitely a Mint start to the album.
The 'band' intro on 'Sway' has no background and first vocal is just as clean. I often find this track has a 'muddy' sound quality but the sonic quality is here is very impressive. It's a powerful track and yet there is no distortion on the top end and Richards' end solo is a prime example of that. No interference from start to finish including the fade out and it also grades as Mint
The acoustic intro on 'Wild Horses' plays beautifully without any background and the two opening verses are the same with maybe just one barely audible dust tick. The first chorus is perfect and it continues to play with a clarity that defies the age of the album. A classic track of course and it plays with phenomenal quality - each note is so sharp and precise and it has to be up there with the best I have ever heard. Perhaps a couple more mega quiet statics but I feel guilty even saying that! There is no intrusion and even the quiet acoustic ending plays with sublime clarity. Let's say Mint-
'Can't You Hear Me Knocking' plays with impeccable power and depth from the get go. This is enhanced so much by Wyman's deep bass and this level is kept up as it progresses. Every vocal and instrumental section plays with stunning quality and again there is no distortion. The long mid instrumental section - just wow! Honestly it could not play any better and this classic track has to grade as Mint such is the quality.
'You Gotta Move' ends the side with STUNNING clarity once more. The quiet 'acoustic' intro is faultless and the vocal sections are so clean also. No ticks, clicks etc this is audio of the highest calibre and Mint is again deserved. For once there is no inner groove distortion here. What a side of music!
----------------------------------------------------------
'Bitch' plays with supreme power and depth from start to finish with no interference. The playback is so strong and rich and Jagger's vocal is at its vitriolic best. The end instrumental is superb and this is another Mint track.
The quiet intro on 'I Got The Blues' plays beautifully and the first two verses are just as clean, a couple of barely audible dust ticks at most. Don't even like using the word ticks really as that is not how they sound The 'chorus' is 'as new' and it continues to play with breath-taking quality, in fact I cannot emphasise enough just how PERFECT the audio is! This is the definitive version... a bit like every track on the album! To the end it plays with impeccable quality and you know the grade. Mint all the way.
To say the acoustic intro on 'Sister Morphine' is crystal clear is an understatement! I guess 'as new' sums it up. The opening vocal section is equal to that - every brief silence is 100% silent also! As Watts' comes in the audio is superb and Ry Cooder's work on the slide guitar adds so much of course to this classic track. The next quiet acoustic passage is flawless and the remainder is of the same exact standard. Not enough words again.... just pure Mint audio from the first note to the last including the fade out.
'Dead Flowers' again impresses on every level. The first verse and chorus play with perfect clarity and there is no let up in quality as it progresses. Another classic track with sonic quality of the highest order. Mint
The acoustic intro on 'Moonlight Mile' plays with sublime clarity and the quiet first verse is just as impressive. From then on it plays with genuine quality and the strings section plays so clearly. There is perhaps just a minor hint of distortion on the 'louder' vocal that follows and then the quiet end section plays beautifully with no intrusion. A Mint- conclusion to a superb album.
In summary this early pressing plays to such a high standard with no intrusion on the audio. Indeed based on the sonic and visual quality and that there is no obvious spindle wear it is clear this vinyl has only been lightly played. The clarity, depth and power of the audio is just sensational and I honestly cannot remember when I last heard a SF as 'clean' as this. It is without doubt a FINAL UPGRADE archive version.
The Cover, Insert & Inner Sleeve
The famous Andy Warhol cover is in great condition with only minimal wear and everything is still in place. The 'large' PAN zip works perfectly and the small flap above the buckle is still there with only a little creasing on the ''edge'. The edges are very clean with only minimal rubbing on the top ones and the spine is very clean with only a couple of letters having 'rubbed' slightly. The corners have hardly any wear and the rest f the front cover is very clean with barely any marking. The back cover is the same with much less indentation than usual in the centre caused by another SF zip in the record shop. A fine example overall.
The two-sided insert is in superb condition with only a couple of faint creases and the plain white die-cut inner has only a little creasing and a couple of small faint spots. It has hardly any age related fading around the edges.

The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
