Up for sale is Doors“The Doors”.

This is a 1967 Terre Haute re- pressing.  There is a lot of surface noise as can be expected for a 56 year old record but it is reasonable given the age of the record and the regularity of play that this type of “Home Run” record would typically see over 56 years.

I would rate this sonically regarding play back as a G+. It has not been ultrasonically cleaned and some improvement may be possible with an ultra sonic cleaning.

The following important information is as follows.

This is an Electra Gold label 1967 Release

This is a Terre Haute Pressing

The dead wax has the following

EkS-74007A (CP-2) Side 1

EKS -74007  B (1-D) Side 2

There will be no inner sleeve provided with record.

The cover is as per photographed.  Please draw your own conclusion on the grading of the cover.  If there questions that cannot be satisfied by the photos please email me.  I can provide additional photos or clarification on the condition of the cover.

I use the Goldmine Grading System for playback only, and I play-test all records.

The record has been played with an entry level audiophile system consisting of a Project Carbon Debut Turntable with a Ortophon 2M red cartridge. The turntable is amplified with phono pre by Grahm See II and finally amplified with a Reisong A10 EL34Tube amp and out to pair of Klipsche Reference 600M speakers and REL 7ti subwoofer.

The following applies only to the playback record medium only not the cover, sleeve or other material included in the sale. Please refer to the photos for the condition of these items, and please ask specific questions if further information is requested regarding the condition of items other than the record.

MINT (M) - Absolutely perfect in every way. This would be a record that has never been opened and played.  I cannot gaurentee the playback will be without flaws.  Although rare, I have previously opened played records that had manufacturing flaws.

NEAR MINT (NM) - A good description is that it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time. In other words, it is nearly perfect, with no visible defects. This record has been opened and played.

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) - Except for a couple minor things, this could be Near Mint. Most collectors will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if on the high end (VG++). VG+ records may show slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience.

VERY GOOD (VG) - VG records are among the biggest bargains, and for many, will be worth the money. They can lack the original gloss, may have surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages. But the noise will not overpower the music.

GOOD PLUS (G+) - Good+ does not mean bad! The record still plays through without skipping, but it has significant surface noise and groove wear.

GOOD (G) - Record may have some skipping, but is otherwise listenable. I generally avoid selling Good (G) rated records unless they are highly collectible or desirable, in order to enjoy until something better comes along.

POOR (P)

and Fair (F)

Poor (P) and Fair (F) records Records are cracked, impossibly warped, or skip and/or repeat when an attempt is made to play them.
