The Orb Featuring David Gilmour – Metallic Spheres Vinyl is a collaboration album between British ambient house collective The Orb and Pink Floyd guitarist and vocalist David Gilmour. Released in 2010, the album features two long-form ambient pieces, “Metallic” and “Spheres,” which combine Gilmour’s signature guitar playing with The Orb’s lush soundscapes and electronic textures.

The album was created almost by accident, when Gilmour came into the studio to record a guitar part for a different project. The Orb leader Alex Paterson and producer Youth were so impressed with Gilmour’s work that they asked him to collaborate on a longer piece. The result is a mesmerizing and atmospheric album that showcases the best of both artists.

Metallic Spheres is a must-have for fans of ambient music, electronic music, and Pink Floyd. It is a unique and innovative album that blends the two genres together perfectly.

The vinyl version of the album is pressed on high-quality 180-gram vinyl and comes in a gatefold jacket. It also includes a poster and a download card for MP3s of all of the tracks as well as the 13-minute bonus track “Cult Of Youth Ambient Mix Part 1 & 2.”

This is a 180 gram vinyl edition, comes in a gatefold sleeve with a 36″x12″ double-sided poster.
