HISTORY...

From 1967 to 2016, David Bowie released twenty-six studio albums. Blackstar (stylised as) is the 26th and final studio album by British musician David Bowie.

The album was primarily recorded in secret between the Magic Shop and Human Worldwide Studios in New York City with Bowie's longtime co-producer Tony Visconti and a group of local jazz musicians. It was released worldwide on 8 January 2016, coinciding with Bowie's 69th birthday and two days before his death, through his ISO Records label, Columbia Records and Sony Music.

At the 2017 59th Grammy Awards "Blackstar" took home 5 awards. The title track won the Best Rock Performance and the Best Rock Song categories and the album won the Best Alternative Music Album, the Best Recording Package as well as the Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical categories.
