While the third full-length project to be recorded, Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood was originally released in 1983 as the Misfits' second album (as their debut Static Age was recorded in 1978 but wouldn't see release until 1996). Noted for being the band's last recorded output with founding vocalist Glenn Danzig (before his departure to focus on Samhain as well as his later solo material), the 15-minute horror/hardcore stomper comes split in two notable halves, long before Outkast would take a similar approach. Made up of two individual EPs (mini-LPs?) Earth A.D. and Wolfs Blood, both filled to the blood-soaked fang with venomous riffage, breakneck pace and Danzig's gothic croon zombie Elvis vocal style dictating the chaos in numerous directions, the album would become a staple of hardcore, horror-punk, and the late 80s scene at large while growing into a fan-favourite in the decades since initial release, thanks in no small part to timeless classics such as 'Die, Die My Darling' and 'We Bite'. Forget all you know of Famous Monsters and Michale Graves, this is the Misfits your mom warned you about.
