About the Artist
Ruth Slenczynska ) Born in California in 1925. Entered the Curtis Conservatory at the age of 5, Berlin at the age of 6 (his classmates included Cherkassky, Borett, and Barber, who were considerably older than him), debuted in New York at the age of 8, and acted as a substitute for Rachmaninoff, who suddenly fell ill at the age of 9. The New York Times praised him as "the most brilliant child prodigy since Mozart," and by the age of 14 he had performed all over Europe and the United States. At the age of 26, he made a comeback on stage and was enthusiastically received by the audience. She took the world by storm as the queen of the piano. At the age of 46, as a residency artist at the University of South Illinois, while continuing to perform, he also devoted himself to education and nurtured many excellent pianists. As an active pianist until the age of 92, he has continued to fascinate many fans with his mature technique and music that resonates with the soul. In 2003, when he was 78 years old, he met dentist Fumiaki Mifune, and until 2017, he came to Japan 9 times. The 13 CDs produced during that time, "The Art of Ruth Slenczynska I-VII", were highly acclaimed in magazines such as Record Geijutsu.
