Luck And Strange Limited Translucent Sea Blue Vinyl edition

David Gilmour's new album, 'Luck and Strange,' is his first collection of new music in nine years. Recorded over five months in Brighton and London, the album was produced by Gilmour and Charlie Andrew, known for his collaborations with ALT-J and Marika Hackman. The lyrics, mostly penned by long-time collaborator Polly Samson, showcase eight new tracks alongside an elegant reinterpretation of The Montgolfier Brothers' 'Between Two Points.' The album also features contributions from Romany Gilmour, who adds backing vocals across the album and can also also be heard on harp.

The album features a variety of musicians including bassists Guy Pratt and Tom Herbert, drummers Adam Betts, Steve Gadd, and Steve DiStanislao, and keyboardists Rob Gentry and Roger Eno. The strings and choral arrangements are the work of Will Gardner. Additionally, the title track includes a special appearance by the late Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright from a 2007 jam session at David's House. The album's cover, photographed and designed by Anton Corbijn, is inspired by lyrics written by Charlie Gilmour for the album’s final track, 'Scattered'.

David Gilmour is widely celebrated for his profound influence on the music world, primarily through his integral role in Pink Floyd. His innovative guitar techniques and soulful vocals helped to shape the distinctive sound that made the band a cornerstone of rock music. Beyond Pink Floyd, Gilmour's solo career has allowed him to explore new musical territories and express his own artistic vision. His contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including two inductions into the US Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a CBE for his services to music.
