Party of One captures the manic new wave energy Lowe's early work had and meshes it effortlessly with the country/garage sound of the 50s and 60s. This album is unapologetically upbeat and downright goofy in places. Songs like "I'm Gonna Build a Jumbo Ark", "You Got the Look I Like", "Shting-Shtang" and especially "Refrigerator White" have the playful sound that early rock and roll had, not taking the music too seriously and focusing on the party/sock hop atmosphere. "All Men Are Liars" is a stellar track that deserves to be though of in the same vein as Lowe's best work. There's a few of Lowe's standard tear-jerkers too, especially "What's Shakin' on the Hill", a slow burner about growing old.

Vinyl: NM. Looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time. The finish is shiny, with no visible defects. Labels are superb, clean and bright without marks. Spindle shows no sign of wear. And no warps.
