The Scandinavian disco princess known as Sally Shapiro is not short on love round these parts, her 'Disco Romance' album being a very firm favourite for those times when you just need a dose of 80s italo synth optimism to brighten your gloomy day. 'Jackie' is Sally's long awaited return and as that hackneyed cliche goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it goes a long way with this girl. Producer and Composer Johan Agebjorn taps into a far more sedate tempo for this material, allowing Sally's lush vocals to really smudge into a moonlit bliss. Melancholy meisters Junior Boys reinterpret 'Jackie' on the flip with a dubbed Italo reversion, arpeggiating the groove into slow disco heaven as only they can and the results are quite immense. The emotion runs deep on the final mix from Dyylan, removing any trace of a beat, he guides us away from the disco club gliding home on a carpet of dry ice...
