Store Categories BLACK DICE - Mr.Impossible / LP BRAND NEW VINYL / RIBBON MUSIC 2012
**Includes digital download code redeemable from the label** New York's hugely influential Black Dice present their 6th full length album, and 1st for Domino sub-label Ribbon Music - who released that brilliant John Maus LP last year. Now together for 15 years, the sound of Eric Copeland, Bjorn Copeland and Aaron Warren is ever leaner and potently fractured with that signature prismatic vision. On 'Mr. Impossible' they churn through nine tracks of headstrong electronic punk, battering drum machines, noisily "free" leads and feral gremlin vocals on 'Pinball Wizard', to mucky slompy stomps on 'The Jacker' and air punching Techno-punk on 'Pigs'. The most interesting moments all occur in the 2nd half; on 'Spy vs Spy', which sounds like they've been listening to Andy Stott; the squeaky skronk rock of 'Shithouse Drifter'; the dislodged acid sway of 'Carnitas'; and the old-skool Ferraro-esque 'Brunswick Sludge (Meets Front Range Tripper)'. Heavy, mental wares.
