Doylestown, Pennsylvania heavy indie rock act Balance & Composure followed their critically lauded 2011 debut Separation with the thick and moody production of sophomore album Things We Think We're Missing. The band takes cues from a wide variety of influences with its guitar-heavy sound, from the trudging moods of emo stalwarts like Quicksand, Sense Field, and Sunny Day Real Estate on lead single "Reflection," to more driving, melodic post-hardcore modes on songs like "Parachutes," not unlike emo-revivalist contemporaries the World Is a Beautiful Place and I'm No Longer Afraid to Die.
